This is Whitey Bulger, former organized crime boss of the Boston Irish crime mob.
This movie was made about him,
And so was this documentary.
I recommend you watch them both and read up on Whitey Bulger as well.
After I watched the documentary I realized how every area of american life is in decline mainly due to one thing: The Human Ego.
The ego will do whatever in order to be right, lie cheat steal and even kill. The ego will drive a person to extreme measures just to avoid losing face. The ego is so powerful that it can cause someone to literaly kill there physical body before it will surrender.
In the documentary it became very clear that the only reason that Whitey Bulger was able to rise and survive at such a high level of criminal activity for 25 years was because of his assistance from the government. He was assisted all all three levels, Federal, State and City.
When he finally came to trial these same governments that supported him were scrabbling to erase any remaining evidence and or connections to Bulger’s legacy of crime.
Bulger was more concerned with his street credit being tarnish, by him being labeled as a informant(Rat).
Burger nor the Government seemed at all concerned with the families of the victims then or now. Their egos would not allow them to experience the compassion needed to put others first.
The truth was to much to bear.
Not only was it too much to bear for Bulger and all of the corrupt law officials, it was also too much to bear for the citizens. None wants to believe that the FBI, State Police and local Police would allow a known criminal operate for 25 with their assistance.
So what happens in cases like this truly disgust me. The government get’s to court and tells as many lies as needed to cover the truth. They fabricate evidence and stories. They straight out lie to us and we go for it.
Look at 911. That had to big one of the biggest lies ever told.
What will it take for us to be ready to live a life based on the ugliness of the truth?
All lies are pretty and feel good.
When will we stop letting our Ego’s dominate life and start living from the Heart?
Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly knowing that I am with you, therefore no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence.
